AMD 5 3600 system suggestions?

Hi folks

 

Making a new system for me - upgrade from 8 years or so - had i7 3820 Asus X79 P9 Pro. 16 gig ram DDR3 socket 2011.  Nvidia 1060 wont be upgrading.

 

Works fine but would like recommendations on AMD system.

 

Play WOW very often.  Looking at:

 

MSI X570 Gaming Plus

Corsair 16 gig 3200 matched AMD ram

 

Only upgrade once a decade or so (it appears).

 

Is MSI robust to last that long?  Or go another way?

X570 is pretty expensive for a gaming oriented system, but if you're looking to have access to as many features as possible for potential future use then it's probably worth it.

 

Some of the best value boards are the TUF Gaming X570 Plus and Aorus X570 Elite.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Nah might as well use MSI's B450 ATX boards. You only lose PCIe 4.0 and have the need to flash bios manually (without compatible CPU) before the CPU gets detected by the motherboard. The power delivery is just as weak
