8 plus 4 pin psu cables

Is it possible that your pc doesnt boot when you only use the 8 pin connector? My psu doesnt have an 8 plus 4. Are there maybe some tricks I could use? Let me know and thanks in advance!!

I get to see a motherboard that's designed not to turn on with only 8 CPU pins. Are you facing a boot problem right now?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

+4 is for overclocking, the 8 will post if its got juice.  Is it turning on and then immediately off, or is the power button itself yielding zero results?  If nothing happens when power button is pressed:

 

1.) is back of PSU turned on

2.) is the Power Switch correctly hooked to the motherboard

 

Ive done both on builds lol

 

If its turning on then immediately off, you have a short on a solder point on the mobo likely.

@Renesh11 - normally the extra 4 (or 8 pin) only becomes necessary when pushing overclocks and you should be able to boot with just the 8 pin. Are you trying to start your rig with the case power on button? If so, I'd be more inclined to say that either your front panel cables are off or the power button is faulty.

It is not even turning or letting me post. The leds from my mobo turn on and stay on but thats it. Psu hooked up properly just checked it as well @Tristerin

Sounds to me like you don't have the front power panel wired correctly or the front panel on off button is borked.  At least these are the best case scenarios to hope for before hardware failure

I tries turning it on with the case power button as well as the mobo power buttom. Both do not seem to do anything.

What does the Debug Display say? it's on the bottom on the MB
