Tier E board for 3600 non x

Hunlight

Hello, so I looked upon tier list for mobos and can see gigabyte aorus pro (120~ eur) is placed on tier E as one board choice for 3600. but some cheaper msi boards are on Tier D (like 85-95eur~). when aorus got somehow better vram (fake 8+3 but still better than standard 4+3 I think), better audio 1220. So why its in Tier E or is it there only because Tier D was for 2700/3700 boards and 3600 boards are consider tier E ? I know that I can use all the boards up to x570 for 3600 but I just refer to the Tier list descriptions. For now Im looking for aorus pro as my main choice for 3600 cpu, its 119eur in my shop and for like +20 eur from other boards it gives better audio, little bit better vrm and looks better over all of course not that it matters but if choose between brown and this one I give aorus +1 for that :D

So please give tips, in my shops lots of popular boards are out of stock like b450 tomahawk or 450-a pro and so on, I could wait for them but price on those are like 90+ so not too far from aorus.

You have to pick up one of the MSI B450 boards so you can use USB bios flashing to update the bios.

Unless someone will let you borrow a CPU to update the bios on some other boards.

Otherwise just grab the ASUS Prime X570 board

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Just because it's expensive, doesn't mean it's good

Im not saying that its better than those for 90eur~ its jsut got audio upgrade from 892 to 1220 and littlebit better vrm thats it so I think +20~ eur is worth for that ?

any other comments on why board was in Tier E ? and any suggestions of a better board ? I was willing to go for asrock b450 gaming k4 as Im using b350 same board, but its litteraly seems to be exact same b350 with different name and color (red > grey) so I dont think its worth it.

Why do you want to change motherboard though if you already have one

1. i don't tier audio

2. @Jurrunio ran through a lot of calculations to tier this, so there's a good reason there's a difference here

hmmm, so if not aorus pro, which board I could go for ? I really want that better audio though (1220) and not really that many boards on b450 have it.

I can see that B450 Strix-I rated highest from b450, why though ? I checked Buildzoid  comments on it with not too great opinion. and also its priced for 167eur here sooo

Im not looking for it, its not on tier list at all (At least for am4) and Im already have b350 fatal1ty and b450 is literally the same board with different color. so I odnt think its worth to pay 94 eur~ for it.

it isn't

the fatal1ty is vrm-wise even the same as the pro4 line (b350, b450 and x370, x570 uses the master/sli vrm)

so if audio is similar on that, you could just get that for less

but understand i don't know much about audio, nor am i interested in it

I mean I wont die using same audio 892 if the board is like a lot cheaper, but if I can pay like 20-30 more for better then why not.

what board can you suggest like a very good choice  for 3600 (like a few boards to choose from which is not too pricey)

purely looking at vrm i think these are nice choices as far as my pricing here goes (in random order)

pro4(-f) (x370, b450, b350)

fatal1ty (same as pro4 in vrm)

tomahawk (max) (b450)

mortar (max) (b450)

gaming plus (max) (b450)

aorus m (b450)

pro carbon (b450)

bazooka (v2/plus) (b450)

m/ac (b450)

and i probably missed some, so feel free to ask

yes, i did mention the gaming plus in my list

though the steel legend honestly has a worse vrm than the pro4, but good enough here

I found bazooka and mortar but only b450m versions which do not have vrm heat sinks on them (or 1 out of 2) and just over all small, less usb etc. I pref atx for more usb etc, using a lot of them. pro carbon is not sellign here at all only one version for 187eur~, aorus m same issue less usb and no heat sink. tomahawk is just overprices as it is out of stock it goes for 120 eur, pro4 and fatality out of it as its just makes 0 sense to buy them if same vrm as on b350. gaming plus seems to be also very similar to fatality and pro4 no ?

also gaming pro is no no only 5 usb ports I think Im using 5 already so would be full and no additional (gaming k4 asrock got 7, so would go with it if so, but still dont think its worth it as its same b350)

-edit---

you sugested aorus m, why though? because of the price ? 89eur~ ? for 98 I can get atx aorus elite, I think in most part its the same as aorus pro I wanted to go with but with audio 892 isntead of newer 1220 on pro version, price difference is 19-29 eurs. who could help out to choose between, Gigabyte b450 aorus elite and aorus pro.

I wont care so much about onboard audio. Unless you have super good headphones or speakers they'll make no difference, and if you do you're better off with external DAC. High end onboard audio is more like a middle of nowwhere rather than an all-in-one solution

get an external DAC then. This way not only you get even better sound quality, but you also have to care about one less thing on motherboards.

Not sure why would you want the Pro in the first place. The rear I/O is atrocious in terms of USB count.

1) I will think about external as Im low on cash and cant afford smth decent now

2) what do u mean ? oooooh daaaamn almost missed it, didnt even check I saw Elite have 7 ports so I though PRO, which is more expensive will have even more/ same amount, dang thanks for pointing that, then of cours not Im using 5 or 6 usbs already xDDD so wouldnt be able to fit all of them. dang really wanted to try that 1220 audio though people saying its better than 892 ? no ?
