Pirated Games and Safety

Hello. First of all I do not support to download or play pirated games. However I have got a question about pirated games. As you know, some pirated games may contain malware, virus, crypto mining etc. Is it possible to play these kind of suspicious games inside any virtual folder using any Sandbox software that isolate games from whole system files without infecting PC? Or are there any ways to do it?

Yeah you could make a VM but you'll need a bare metal one to get decent performance

VM's are a PITA to get working well with games. I suppose so long as the game runs, even if it runs like crap, u can at least use it to check for malicious software.

 

Generally speaking u take a risk with pirated software, the only way to reduce such risk is to trust user reviews. but that ofc is open to manipulation.

 

if u even have to ask about the risk, u best stay clear.

Better off having a dedicated machine that's totally off your network to check/test "sketchy" files. Something you can re-image easily if something goes wrong.

 

Too much hassle to deal with IMO.

That's actually why I am asking this. I wanna see some games before buy them but I don't want to take risk at the same time.
