Well... that's a pretty good deal for a gaming rig.

 

Then again that should be the 9700K pricing already, with the 9700 and 9700KF being even cheaper to keep Intel very competitive...

Yeah, it's 8c8t, so no hyperthreading. This is what it sets apart from the i9 CPU, but also what makes it a bit less compelling than the 3700x (8c16t). The i7 has more single core performance, but of course the Ryzen 3700x has double the threads

Look at gaming benchmarks.  An OC'ed 9700K at 5.0Ghz trades blows with the 9900K and out preforms the 3900X.  For a pure gaming PC with a dedicated GPU, this is a great CPU.  Plus it had been around $360-$380 recently, so this is a good price.
