Benchmarks?

So I recently upgraded my CPU to a 3900x to get more use out of my 1080 ti. Naturally I looked at bechmarks to see if I got the bang for my buck. I did not. According to this site I should be getting 101 fps as the minimum at ultra settings for my 1080p set up. I get 54 in the Ancient Forest at certain areas when fighting a monster. Granted I'm using the HD Texture pack but I don't think it should tank that low because of it. What gives? Did I get unlucky? Are my parts throttled? Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance if I personally forget to do so!

1. What games is this?
2. Those benchmark scores are kind of meaningless without context. They only show what resolution and quality settings. They don't actually seem to say where in the game did they test, what they did, etc. For all I know, if they didn't use an in-game benchmark tool, they just found something that gave good enough results.
3. It's not really a good idea anyway to use aggregating websites like this because they tend to lack context. It's more for a ballpark estimate than "this is what you should be getting" sort of thing.

That website is unreliable,the FPS there is calculated by the server and not checked by humans.

Also nowdays 8 cores perform better in gaming than 12 cores.

 

You sould use a proper benchmark like Unigine superposition.

Dont trust this site... Its a SEO optimization spam crap bs.... ok you know what I mean. 

Download Superposition or 3D mark and compare your results with some trusted sources like GN, LTT, Jay, PCPer, Andantec, Toms etc

Why are people so obsessed with benchmarks?

 

At the end of the day if it works and works well why worry about what a benchmark shows compared to someone elses?

Its good for checking weather everything is running right or not

To a point they may show this but they may make others worry if they are not getting the same or more in a benchmark score where there's really no need.

 

I benchmark my PC now and then on Cinebench and the readings are all over the place, one minute get one score then a lower score then a terrifically higher score they make no sense.

Bloatware can make the scores go all over the place,having steam,browser and any kind of software open can too.

 

I get almost the same score every time.
