How can I make my build quieter?

Jobobee

Hi there,

I made a build awhile ago, and it works perfectly, apart from one thing: the noise.

Specs:

3930K

Switch 810

Reference 780Ti

ASRock X79 Extreme 3

Corsair CX750M (I know that it sucks...)

Zalman 10X Performa

Fans I have:

Corsair SP120 Currently in use on the heatsink, with the low noise adapter

Stock Switch 810 fans (3 of them, all 140mm)

Stock Zalman 10X Performa fan (Not in use at the moment)

Broken NF-F12 (It was given to me, but it's missing a fan blade.....)

And help on making it quieter is appreciated!! I might water cool it in a few months, but form now I won't. I'm willing to spend a bit of money.

Any other cheaper fans than the Noctuas? They're rather expensive for fans...

Find out what is causing the noise by stopping the fans with your hand with the system on.

I'm pretty sure it's the SP120 and the broken fan.

The broken fan is not currently being used.

I think the SP is the one making the noise.

I live in Italy, but shipping to England is fine too, my dad lives there and I should be going there soon.

Go figure out if it's the only loud fan then.

The fans that came with my case are pretty quiet. Fractal Silent Series R2...

I'm also using a fan controller to keep them at low RPM. Using low noise adapter can do it too...

I'll do that when I'm home (Tomorrow)

I have found that Cougar fans are pretty good, as are the Corsair AF / SP line of fans. Noctua wins the quiet tests though.

AMD RYZEN 7 5800X3D \ Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite \  32GB 3600 G.SKILL Neo \  Gigabyte RTX 4080 Gaming OC \  Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo \  NVMe 2TB Samsung 990 Pro, SATA 4TB Samsung 970 Evo  \  WINDOWS 11 PRO

Nothing wrong with the Corsair CX750M for the money.

Nothing to see here - move along.

Right for the Corsair AF/SP but they're pretty much in the same price range as Noctua.

Unless you buy the fans in the 2 packs. In which case they are a few dollars less per fan than the Noctua.

Reference GPU cooler might be one issue, unless you have its speed controlled.

The Corsair doesn't make that much noise. I think it's the 4 NZXTs and the GPU.

NZXT fans aren't that bad. Under 70% of speed they are rather quiet.
