micro sd card fail again?

hi just sharing,it's the 2nd time now. somehow me and micro sd cards don't go along well. it just suddently stopped wrong while in my galaxy note 9, tried putting in a card reader and onto my pc it's not reading it. both are from sandisk. so...are sandisk that bad?what brand should i get next?

I have the same trouble in my Nokia,  Some USB readers just throw a "card failure" when you try to read it in windows.  I am pretty sure it isn't the cards that are broken but the systems reading them.  I now have a dedicated Ubuntu system for uploading all my SD cards to my NAS, it works every time while I get mixed results on windows depending on the machine and reader.

 

It might just be your particular version of android and the reader chip they have used.

bit it was in my note 9 all the time since feb 2019. until a few days back it just says sd card not inserted.

Yep, my nokia did the same, cards worked fine then all of a sudden the nokia says there is no card inserted.  Although some apps can still see it (really confusing) I wish I had a solution for you, but it has me scratching my head.

one thing i've also noticed is that cards die if you don't use it for a long period of time.

It's in the phone and constantly being used..how did it die then?

if you have any Sd card lying around form a year ago? there's like 50/50 chance its dead, if its more than 3 years sitting in a shelf, it's more than likely dead.

reason? idk, same as DVD's that's sitting in for a long time, they wont read as well as become really slow

Samsung Phones like to kill MicroSD cards for some reason.

But for next sd cards i would go with Samsung ones, because atleast they send you a new free one if the card dies.

I've found Lexar to be the most unreliable... My 128GB completely failed recently.
