Is a windows 10 update safe right now?

The reason i'm asking this question is because i've read numerous topics about windows update deleting files.

I would like to update my version (currently running 1803 from may of last year) but i don't want to lose files.

F*ck 1903. It completely wrecked the OS on my Ryzen 5 1600 system, and I'm still trying to fix it. Do not update imo.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

1903 has been the smoothest update I ever received, literally nothing was broken after the update. However I should mention that every previous windows 10 update caused some serious headache on my desktop and I highly suggest having a complete OS drive backup before installing the update.

Only the OS drive?
So other drives are safe?

yeah as long as windows is on a seperate partition.

just update a core 2 duo with 1903, surprisingly smooth.

there a "updating windows" screen that stuck for hours, i thought it hung, but it went through.

it takes my ryzen almost an hour to update, so i'm expecting the worse.

If it breaks anything, it's because you yourself decided to fuck around Windows by using applications you really shouldn't be using anymore, the kind that pretends to "clean" your registry or "clean free space" and other bullshit.

If worst come to pass, just do a clean install. 100% stable, always.

tbh i never had any issues with any windows updates, other than them installing at the most inconvenient times. Running 1903 now on both my PCs and laptop, no issues at the moment.

I always clean install so I've no issues. Winblows works alright.
