Hello,

I am planning to upgrade my rig, and yes, i have checked a lot of forums to see what was my best option but i am still unsure.

I am currently deciding between:

MSI B450 Tomahawk 99€

MSI B450 Gaming Plus 91,9€

Asus Prime B450 Plus 89,5€

I have read that the Tomahawk is the best of all but i want to make sure it will all fit and is it maybe even overkill.

Current setup:

i5 2400

MSI H61M-P31/W8

2x4GB DDR3 Ballistix 1866 MHz

Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1060 3GB

2x SSD

NZXT S340 Case

Planned setup:

Ryzen 5 2600

<Insert motherboard here>

1x8GB DDR4 Vengeance 3000 MHz

Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1060 3GB

2x SSD

NZXT S340 Case

I know Ryzen benefits from dual channel and i plan to add another stick in the future(yes i know im dumb, why didnt i get 2x4 and later another 2x4).

Will i be bottlenecked by anything or is it fairly balanced?

Thanks for any pointers :)

I managed to use both of them like about a month or two ago for two of my friends builds and got fairly better oc's with the tomahawk

Could have just been a shittier 2600 than the other or something

I'm running a B450 Tomahawk and 2600 currently, signature for the full list.  It works well.  I hit 4.1 Ghz all cores with minimal voltage.  Runs great for 1080p Gaming with my 1070.  If you can afford it hit a dual channel kit 2x8GB and bump that video card up a notch to at least a 6GB 1060, 1660, or better yet a 1070 with 8GB of VRAM.

Yeah sounds about right but i already got 1 stick of vengeance lpx 3000mhz.. i bought it because i thought it was fairly cheap and i just wanted to get at least 1 new part so i actually commit to buying the whole thing, because i am saying i will buy a new pc for over 6 months and never had the money. This was the lowest cost part but still something to get me started and get my motivation up
