Yes to clean your PC you must take of the Sidepanel, its called Sidepanel not Cheald.

Most computers work fine for many, many years without anything being done to clean the interior. Check the fans for filters and clean those if they exist. Leave the interior alone unless your motherboard temperature is running high.

Your mom got really mad at you because you were going to take off the side panel on your computer. So now you are asking if taking the side panel off destroys the computer, and if you can clean the computer without taking it off, correct?

 

No it doesn't break just from removing the side panel. However, it is full of very sensitive components and you can destroy them by simply touching them (if you have a lot of static built-up). If you don't really know what you are doing then it's best to not open it.

You can't really clean the computer unless you take the side panel off though.

Just take it off the wall plug before doing anything. You sound like you are doing this first time. Don't electrocute yourself or destroy you PC by accident.

Well if you don't know what I side panel is you shouldnt open up your pc

Why do you want to take the side panel off to begin with, just to see what is inside? Realistically it is very unlikely you will break anything so go for it.
