Windows 10 Gaming Performance

MastuhWaffles

So being I upgraded to windows 10 I have noticed that there has been a lack of performance in some games like GTA5.

I originally installed GTA5 when I was on windows 7, and did the upgrade without a fresh install.

Would a cause of these issues be that it was installed on Windows 7 and not 10? If I were to re install it on windows 10 would that have any effect? And is there any data on this? It's a big game so I'd like to have an idea before I wait 30 years for it to download.

windows 10 tends to run pretty badly after it's installed as it will spend the next few weeks updating everything.

the point where windows 10 runs faster than windows 7 due to it not constantly downloading updates or seeding the nsa with your daily activity is sort of a mystery. hopefully you reach that sweet spot

The problem is the he UPGRADED to windows 10 instead of clean installing properly from scratch.

Everyone knows the upgrade process is crap and makes stuff stop working half the time.

If you want windows 10 to work well it needs to be a clean install.

Eventually I plan on doing a fresh install, however I want to know if games being installed on windows 7, then upgraded to windows 10 effects their performance. The problem is the game is 85GB and its going to take awhile if it isnt worth doing the reinstall.

so , from what i gather you dont have a copy then but just a steam installation so you'd have to download the game over again, i understand now. lol
