I have a feeling it was a combination of traveling with them (often times just draped around my neck) and over-flexing them to put them on. I had a few with metal bands too, but the plastic would crack where the bands are attached.

ah i see. I get you ive broken one of my headphones prtty similarly in the past while dtraveling I now just opt for IEMS when im outside.
