Laptop fans refuse to spin

So I have an HP Omen laptop (15-CE097NX). I'm using it for medium use (few browser windows, spotify, some word processing, discord etc).

The fans refuse to ramp up despite the laptop being about 50 degrees and slowly cooking my leg. Anyone got ideas on how to force the fans to ramp up?

50C is considered normal operating temperature and will cause no harm to the components. As for warming up your legs, may I suggest pants? Lol

You could try installing speedfan and forcing the fan to run faster, assuming it is supported on your laptop.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.

50 degrees is normal temperature and doesn't need your fans to be at the maximum speed. As you are running a HP laptop, there might be 'HP CoolSense' running which takes care of the fan speed. My processor is currently at 65 degrees C and the fans are still not audible. There's no need to ramp up the fan speed in your case as its normal. I would suggest you to take stress test to see if your fan ramp up at high temperature. If your fan doesn't ramp up then you can diagnose more to it.

50 on the outside, 60-80 on the inside. Pants are too mainstream

yes, i know it's in the name. but gaming laptops get hot, much hotter than a regular laptop, and if you're "cooking" your legs, logic would dictate that you don't do that.
