Hey everyone, so I set up a little computer with WordPress 10 pro that I want to run my emby server from. I am trying to set my media drives as Raid 0 but I'm getting an error that says "can't create the pool. Check the drive connections, and then try again." does anyone know why I'm getting this?

My specs are:

Ryzen 2600

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

16GB RAM

240GB SSD for the OS

4x4TB WD Red for media.

Thank you all for your comments.

Are you trying to set it up in BIOS or Windows storage spaces?

Are the drives in question connected to SATA ports handled by a single controller?

Yeah, it's not important stuff and I need the space. So I tried going into the UEFI and doing that way, I managed to get the Array done but now my boot drive is messed up and I can't even reinstall windows because it's not being recognized...

Okay then why do you need a Raid anyways? Can't you run them on their own?

I wanted them made into 1 single location so it's easy for me to manage and set on Emby, but I think I'm going to do that, it's becoming a real pain. Not even the msi raid drivers work...

Yeah, I followed the instructions, set the Array and got the raid drivers from MSI, but when I get to the disk selection to install windows. No disk is recognized and it says the drivers are not in the driver file I downloaded.

Well, my question is, how do I set up my extra ssd so it doesn't show as a "raid array"? So that it can be recognized? I figured that the SSD had to be its own array and it's the drivers that are not working for me.

So don't use the raid in the bios, its crap, storage spaces if your friend here.

What commands were you using to make the pool? Dont use the gui in win 10, use power shell, its much better here.

What does get-physicaldisk show?

All well and good until you lose 10-20+ TB of data and all your folder/security structure and realise you have to recreate it all....it seems if you're using emby it's pointless putting 16TB at risk for a single logical volume which makes no difference when you're using a library software...
