RX580 8GB or GTX1060 6GB??

Hi so that basically, I do have an acer FreeSync monitor and my rig is a Xeon E5 2470 (comparable to a 3rd/4th gen i7) 16GB of RAM. I have always had Nvidia GPUs but I think because my monitor will eliminate choppy frames and the RX580 8gb is comparable in price to even slightly cheaper in some cases. I'm looking at the ROG Strix 580 and the Zotac AMP edition 1060. ?

From every test I've seen and my personal experience they trade blows,
Some programs run better with one over the other but they roughly equal out (perhaps slightly favouring the 580).

I'd recommend whichever's the cheapest in your area.

The RX 580 is a better pick at this tier and price point..

RX 580 is a bit faster now and AMD provides a more reliable/polished experience than Nvidia with freesync monitors. Also more VRAM ages well.

Depends on which games you play. Fortnite plays much better on nvidia gpus. However if historic trends hold the RX 580 will be faster In 2 years from now as they have always supported their older cards better
