Is this a good upgrade ?

I currently have the intel core i5-7500, Rx 570 4GB, and 16GB of ram. I want to upgrade my cpu to a intel core i5-9400f. Would this be a good upgrade to performance? Also would this cpu be a good pair for my Rx 570 4GB?

Ah @xg32 is correct. You would also need a new motherboard. Nice catch xg

the 9400f would not work with a motherboard that also works with the 7500

That will not work in the motherboard. you need a 300 chipset. I made that mistake one time.

Edit: so if you dont want to buy a new motherboard, you should get a 7th gen cpu.

Is the Asrock B360 Pro4 a good motherboard for the intel core i5-9400f?
