I run DDR4-2133 with a Ryzen 5 1600.

No problems, does everything I need it to.

My only complaint is not shelling out for 16GB, but I did build at kind of the height of the memory shortage(hence the cheapest, slowest memory I could find).

I thought 2133 is ddr3?

idk why people concern too much about memory speed at ryzen when you cant afford it is fine no problem.

Nope, there's some overlap in clock speed between revisions.

DDR3 peaked at 2400 stock, DDR4 goes as low as 2133.

Even DDR2 went as high as 1066, the minimum for DDR3.

2133Mhz would be very fast DDR3 :P It is the default frequency for DDR4 though.

I ran my memory at 2133Mhz for a bit after the Ryzen 7 launch, because I couldn't be bothered to make my 3200Mhz memory run stable. After experiencing some stuttering I upped the frequency though.

Mainly because you're losing out on performance for about 10 USD on an 8GB set.

I was not worry at first, but everywhere I watch videos and people talked to, they seem to know ryzen benefits faster speeds

Nope; it goes even stupider than that.

DDR4 goes as low as 2133 and as high as 4800; however DDR3 goes as low as 1066 and goes as high as 3200.

I forgot DDR3 ever went past 2400.

I guess that should make sense, I do recall now seeing some DDR3-2666 from Corsair as well.

i would worry if its APU if its not an APU its fine, have you seen the difference betwen intel 2133mhz and 3000mhz?

yeah if its an APU it will be like 30% loss if its not probably like 5-15% just like intel

On intel it's more like 1-2% loss

I ran single-channel 8GB of DDR4 at 2400MHz on my 1700X.

Let's just say that extra 8GB stick I bought really made a shit ton of difference even at the same RAM speed.

dual channel + fast ram > dual channel > fast ram

use this or some random youtube it will gain in some cases for like 5-15% dont say stuff too randomly, i know its not for some games but for other games it does.

Preaching to the choir, man. I know that. I'm just saying that single-channel on Ryzen is almost unusable in comparison to even slow dual-channel.

My bad didn't know about that, did some testing on my own and had 1-2% differences only.

10% increase in performance seems worth it to me with only a 10 euro increase on an 8GB set :P

Plus, from experience, the stability of fps is much higher with higher clocked memory.

well i said if you can afford it, but there is also the choice of Overclocking and ryzen is not the best at using XMP tbh.
