Can't get ram speed to 3200 MHZ

So I just recently bought and built a new computer, mind you it's been about 10 years since I've built a computer. The build went without a hitch, everything worked, detected everything was great. I was flashing the latest bios for my board and I noticed my ram was only at 2133 MHZ instead of 3200 MHZ. So I set it to 3200 MHZ from auto after I flashed the bios and saved and restarted. But the ram is still at 2133 MHZ. I'm not sure why but I can't get it to 3200 MHZ. Any ideas?

MB: Asus Prime X470-pro with bios 4602

RAM: 16 GB (2x8) Trident Z RGB 3200 MHZ running at 2133 MHZ@ 1.2 volts

Additionally, according to CPU-Z it's running at 1596.2 MHZ

That's what you should see when running 3200MHz.

Did you set voltage?

8700K @ 5.2ghz 1.29V, 4x8 Rev.E @ 4040 13-20-20-39 1.7V.

Enable DOCP within bios, select the 3200 option.

Ok, I enabled DOCP which changed the timing to 16-18-18-38 which is what it calls for and I set the voltage to 1.35, saved and restarted and in bios it still shows 2133 MHZ, but CPU-Z still shows 1596.2 MHZ which you said is correct for 3200 MHZ?

so you're running on 3200 mhz

it's called double data rate for a reason

1596.2mhz = 3200mhz (DDR= double data rate)
