Dumb question BUT which new laptop to get?

Hey guys, quick question for you:

I'm moving overseas in a couple months and will need a new laptop/PC. I have a desktop now, it's great for what I need and just got a GTX 980 and better cooling etc. But it can't come with me so it's back to laptops for now.

The last one I had was a pre-touchbar MacBook pro, which I loved. Best build, track pad, etc of anything at the time but I'd like to at least try to game.

My ideal laptop would be a surface laptop, great design, battery life and anything other than a 3:2 screen is a big no for me these days on a laptop.

But no USB-C!

Whats out there that will give me the build, design and overall niceness of the surface but with some type c for that egpu fun?

Budget isn't really an issue, work can pay for it so looking around maybe £1-2,000

Laptop: Asus GA502DU

RAM: 16GB DDR4 | CPU: Ryzen 3750H | GPU: GTX 1660ti

you could easily find some gtx1060 non max-q laptops for cheap and comparable perf as gtx980, under $1000(usd) pairing with a 1080p 60hz monitor or even external monitor would give you a very similar/ enjoyable gaming setup

note that you need a external desktop psu / egpu dock and your current gpu which is very bulky...
