AIVD to check Huawei regarding Dutch ISP

The Dutch intelligence service (AIVD) will be investigating whether Huawei had access to customer data from a large Dutch provider, reports De Volkskrant.

Huawei would have a hidden backdoor to the customer data of one of the three major telecom providers in the Netherlands: Vodafone/Ziggo, T-Mobile/Tele2 or KPN. The AIVD is investigating whether there is a link with espionage by the Chinese government, intelligence sources tell de Volkskrant.

Quote

There is much unclear about the matter. For example, the newspaper does not state whether it is a deliberately placed backdoor or a bug. Huawei equipment contains many software bugs, as said by an independent commission that monitors the safety of Huawei equipment in the UK.

FHuawei uses the real-time operating system VxWorks, but it has a license for a version that is already end-of-life. It also uses versions of OpenSSL in network equipment that they contain vulnerabilities. In addition, Huawei does not adhere to its own standards in the field of code writing and Huawei has hardly improved its software development in recent years.

i personally think some news of Huawei are blown up, but this sounds quite serious if it's true... I personally still think it's a bug.

At this point, i'm pretty confident that huawei uses backdoors in all their devices, regardless of service provider

"if huawei is the only you ever hear about" sorry if i was mistaken

I mean, i assume a lot of companies, or governments use backdoors. Especially here in america, i assume the NSA has access to all our phones ?

oh, that regard

What i meant to say was that you hear a lot about Huawei, and if you find a literal spy chip in a motherboard from SuperMicro, you only hear once about it
