What's the prebuilt? What's the PSU? Can you send a picture of the label?

If we talk about DELL/Lenovo and other BIG OEMs, its probably not a Bomb.

BUT: It can have a Proprietary Connector.

Can you even replace the PSU?

Pls post a Pic of the Label!

And how did you determine that the System uses about 420W???

Would a used power supply be a good way to cut down the cost? Or is this a bad idear.

Okay, yeah. That definitely needs to be replaced.

Considering your current "550w" PSU can only deliver around 200W on the 12v rail (12v @ 17A), there's no way that your current system uses 420 watts. What hardware do you have? CPU and GPU?

Nah. Don't buy used PSUs, get a new PSU. If you get something mildly decent it should last you a few years at least.

What country are you in? Budget?

No, that's (mostly) a bad idea because you lose the warranty for the unit.

If it has 10 Years Warranty and you buy it used, there is no Warranty for you.

And the price isn't that much lower either...

That ain't no 550W PSU!
That's something someone wrote 550 on the label but its not 550W at all.

Most likely its 250W, at best 300W.

If you want to save money and its possible in your area you can save a bit with a good quality 400-450W PSU.

Because there are no good quality 350W ones...
