Which PSU Should I Choose For This Build?

1 minute ago, Bananasplit_00 said:

Just because it had a nice brand on it dosent mean it's good. Almost every company makes some level of garbage. I don't know enough about the internals and PSUs in general to explain WHY its bad but I know the people that know say to stay away generally

Will This Do:-

Is It That Bad,I Mean Why?

I Thought Corsair Could Be Trustworthy?

Anyway , will cause my PC to catch on fire?

it's not that extreme, but it regulates some rails together, which isn't that good with modern hardware. and it normally lasts around 3 years...

this one is much MUCH better

So I Should Buy B450 ?

Plus Should I Go For The VS 450?

IF THEN IT WILL BE IN MY BUDGET?

The VS PSU is hard to vouch for but if you get a grey label, I'd consider it just good enough. And yeah, B450 is a really good investment depending on which one you get, companies have revealed which motherboards are getting long term support. It's worth looking up on their websites.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Will a VS450 Do?

its not a great PSU. would go for the CX450 or a Bequiet system power 9 500 watt or bequiet 10/11 400 watt.

its not the end of the world to grab an VS450, but i would avoid it.

Yes. It would be a good choice for your system that fits within your budget.

i wouldn't say SHOULD ABSOLUTELY

i'd recommend it, as it'll last longer than a vs and uses dc-dc regulation, which is better with modern hardware

While a bad PSU can cause issues with your HDD (and other components), it's a little irresponsible to say that if your data is corrupt that you must have a faulty PSU. There's plenty of reasons why a HDD might fail or data becomes corrupted that aren't related to the PSU ranging from physical damage to the drive to software issues. I'm sure the last thing anyone wants is "My HDD failed so I need a new PSU?!??" becoming the new "Will this bottleneck?" (Edit: or maybe a better analogy would be "I got a BSOD, does that mean my 750W PSU isn't enough?".)
