How do you pronounce PC companies that has acronyms?

My friends (or people in general) say brands or logos as they are. But what will happen if everyone says instead of acronyms, they say the word that it forms.

Comment on your favorite brands and say it as a word

Like E V G A, I could say it as Evga

Or PNY, as Pony, Penny... or my personal favorite... Peeny

I pronounce EVGA as in, Ee-Vee-Jee-Ayy, because that's what everyone else says and it makes the most sense after digging around the internet and finding out that it used to stand for 'Extended Video Graphics Array'.

Generally for any block capitals company, I just pronounce it the way the block capitals are formed.

PNY = Pee-En-Why

NZXT = En-Zee-Ex-Tee

I've heard NZXT's name is based off the word 'Next' but I've heard nobody say that ever.

In French / Quebecois, no joke.

Except Asus maybe because in Québec French it sounds literally like "she sucks [dick]"

Depends of the audience but saying it in English is a bit pretentious.

Actually, you're supposed to pronounce an acronym as a word, like ASUS.

An initialization is supposed to be pronounced letter-by-letter, like EVGA.

A lot of the acronyms nowadays are backronyms, which is when they start with the final word and find the descriptive phrase from there. I'm almost certain RAID is an example of that.

"Do as I say, not as I do."

-Because you actually care if it makes sense.

I'm curious as to why you add the "H" sound to the A for EVGA?

It’s the accent. We’re a British Colony, not a Australian Colony.

I actually really love NZXT. Best cause I ever bought, and didn’t cost too much ( I got the 210 or whatnot). Shame to have sold it.

Ahh I see, this is an accent thing. Why would you mention Australia, though? I'm not Australian, and as such, have limited knowledge on how they would pronounce things.

Here in North America, the "A" in EVGA would be pronounced "Aye" - basically "Hay" without the H, or "Bay" without the B. Though regional dialects (particularly stronger ones, like southern US) will have variations on that, possibly.

They tend to have a higher pitch. The NZ accent is more the front of the mouth, and we roll our r’s. (Not as front as British or American, but more so than Australian) While Australian accent is at the back of the throat. It’s pretty similar sounding though. The result is a higher and lower pitch for Australian.
