hmm.. Which motherboard is better for ryzen overclocking?

Yeah so, I've been thinking, I have these 2 decisions, one is a b450 and another is a x370. A B450m HDV or a X370 Pro4? I have my Ryzen 3 2200g waiting here, I wanted to overclock it to.. say, 4ghz

So, what do you think? Any advice would be appreciated

In terms of sheer overclocking performance, the X370 will be better. But for a 2200g, that board is complete overkill and a b450 will overclock it to likely the same speed as well.

The X370 is miles better, the B450 only has a 4 pin CPU power connection and worse power phases.

I would say that overall the X370 is solid because I doubt OP wants the 2200g forever.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

X370 Pro4 is a much better board to pick up. wouldnt pick up the HDV board unless its only for a office PC.

The X370 Pro is a good board but you dont have the new AMD boost support, which is on the new CPUs.

Get a decent B450, like the Gaming K4 and you will be pretty good.

Oh I'm so sorry guys, not the X370 Pro4, I meant the X370m pro4, my mistake. So is the x370m still better than the b450m hdv? (Is there a big difference between the 'M' at the end tho?)

The x470m pro4 is pretty similar to its ATX counterpart, still better for overclocking.
