To much money=performance OVER 9000

dusty011

So I thought I would just say I have built my new gaming rig and just want to increase the size of my E-Penis with this beast of a system.

GPU: 2x 780ti Gigabyte Windforce edition

CPU: i7 4930k OC'ed to 3.9 ghz

Ram: 64 gbs of Corsair Dominator Plats

Mobo: Asus rampage IV Black Edition

PSU:Corsair AX 1200i

Case: Cosair Obsidian Series 900D Supertower

CPU Cooler: Corsair H-110

Storage: 2x 1 tb WD Black Drives, 1x 500 gb Samsung EVO 840 SSD

Keyboard and Mouse: Razer BlackWidow 2013, Razer Deathadder 2013

Extras: Custom Red LED Case lights

(Pictures coming soon)

Please tell me what you all thing of my new rig upgrade, possible upgrades of where I could have gotten better performance (please don't say x3 or quad SLI.) :D Also to everyone saying Custom Water Cooling I am very clumsy and I have had to many broken parts from a custom kit so I said screw it and went with a closed loop cooler.

Edit 1: To all who ask why I'm using a 900D, it was the same case from my old computer which saved me money and I had no reason at all to get a new case. Also to everyone saying to get more SSD storage, I have this to say *clears throat* SSD's ARE CRAZY EXSPENSIVE! I know I have spent a lot of money on everything else but I see no need to get a 1 tb+ SSD because I really am just using it as drive to boot into Ubuntu, Windows 7 Pro, and possibly SteamOS when it comes. For me the two 1TB WD Blacks are plenty of space. Finally the 64 gigs of RAM, yes I know its almost useless but I had a 32 gig kit already and the 32 gig kit was given to me by someone who changed brands of RAM. Also I really do like Razer for my Keyboard and Mouse its completely preferance to me so please stop yelling at my opinion. Finally the h-110 as a CPU cooler, yes I know the performance isn't as good as the h-100i but I already had it left over from my old build so why get an upgrade if it works for what you do. Also the CPU clock speeds are just what I felt safe at, I'm not a heavy OC guy however I will probably clock it higher in the future.

well to start with why in the love of god would you need 64gigs ofr ram?? are you trying to run like 10000000000000000 minsweaper games at the same time??

and i belive that 2 r9 290x would have shown better performance as they scale better with multi gpu setups. atleast with the new bridge less design, while i know it wont increas performance it would have less stutters.

I thougth about it but I decided go big or go home with saying "Hey I have two of the fastest GPU's on the market" and the RAM is because I had one 32 gig set and I got the other on a super sale+employee discount. :3

  • 3.9 GHz OC on a 4930k
  • 64GB of RAM
  • H110 in a 900D
  • Razer

For the love of god if you use a single 1080p monitor with this...

1. It was what was stable and with in my personal comfort zone.

2. I had 1 32 gig kit and just got another.

3. I don't feel comfortable using custom loops

4. I like razer personally.

5. I have 3 1080p monitors and will get 1440p at some point.

Everyone needs to shutup about the Watercooling. HE DOESNT HAVE TO DO IT IF HE ISNT CONFIDENT. Plus he'll be saving $1000+ if he doesn't do custom wc and he has no chance of ruining components with coolant. However, I would suggest a different case. The 900D with an AIO cooler will look sooo empty. Use a smaller case optimized for air cooling like a Silverstone FT02 or a smaller corsair case.

It was left over from my old build so I really saw no need for a new case that was smaller, thats really the only reason. I am thinking of what I can do to make the case look more full.

Oh okay gotcha. Well at least your case will suit your every future need. I have a Silverstone TJ11 and im running an H80i in it with the stock cooler on my 780. I've had watercooling in the case in the past and might have it again in the future but i'll never need another case.

H110 and a 900D why.gif

Yeah, that hurt me the most. I can almost imagine that he would have to triple stack fans in order to get any kind of airflow in that thing.

This is the reason why I got rid of my Cosmos II.
