FX 8350 Throttling on Gigabyte UD3

Just ordered the Sabertooth, Amazon had it at £126.99 with free shipping.

Was going to buy it from Overclockers but they are £139.99 + delivery

GOODBYE GIGABYTE.

Nothing to see here - move along.

Well the Sabertooth is sitting very pretty in my rig and on early testing it all looks good. All the things that would make the Gigabyte drop it's pants have been rock solid on the Asus.

The Bios is very in depth and the Thermal Radar is fantastic at seeing the real tempos from all over the board.

Plus the sticker that comes with it is quite cool.

Nothing to see here - move along.

Any dropping in frequency at all ?

No. Although, no mater what settings I use, IBT results GFlops in the 40s. Socket temps are excellent. As of the last few hours, I've been trying out FSB clocks with Turbo enabled.

Excellent.  I must admit, I am very impressed with the Asus.  The only thing holding me back is the CPU temp.  I have had 4.8Ghz, no issues with normal use but under stress test it will hit the 65'C.

Will resit my HSF as I had to use shit tim but I found my MX4 now so will try again, the temperatures seem higher on the cpu than with my UD3.

I want to take that voltage as low as I can at 4.6Ghz and I will be happy.

Nothing to see here - move along.

HSF now has new MX4 and running Boinc.

4.5Ghz @ 1.35v

VRM's 67'C

CPU 55'C

Rock solid.

Nothing to see here - move along.
