I would be much more concerned with the crap MB you have, one of the worst Z390 MB's you can buy.

But yeah I would get a higher tier PSU for the 2080Ti.

The EVGA G2 or Corsair RMX are solid choices.

I'm confused, your sig says you run a "PSU: Corsair AX760" so which is it?

If you have it, its fine.
Just don't overload it or try to. So some kind of Powermeter is not a bad idea (though its not in general).

With that in mind, and your components, you should be far from max load, so its fine.

Why would you replace a Corsair AX with EVGA G3 anyway? G3's problem is its over temperature shutdown and over power shutdown points being set too high (so they dont trip when they should have). Not the worst of problems but enough to not buy it.

What's the major malfunction about the board?  Certainly isn't even a cheap one in the ASUS Z390 line up, looks like it should be fine?

My friend just put one in his new 8700k build from MicroCenter.

Don't you have still warranty on that?

Corsair seem to state 10 Year Warranty on that.

So if you still have a receit, you should be able to get a replacement.

If I were you, I'd contact them and ask if they would be so kind to replace it with HX750 Platinum or HX750i if possible.

I already spent a bunch on fancy cables.  It’s too late.  I do want to get a 2080ti, 9900k though.  I’d really like to be getting a steady 100fps on Star Citizen

That's a shame because with Corsair Type 4 Cables you can still move to a Bitfenix Whisper M, Cougar GX-F...

Crap VRM's.

They are fine for the 8700K, but not for the I9's.

So that shows that it’s right in the middle under a bunch of boards that are meant for overclocking.  I’m not sure how you can call that crap.  Just because it isn’t the best doesn’t make it crap.

The Aorus Ultra and Master are much better boards for the value and boards like the Maximus XI Code and Formula should be in top tier for the price.

Even then pcpp pricing archives doesn't show anything lower than $170 for the Z390-A.

Indeed, with the Asus brand and it being all white/metallic and RGB pretty it's certainly not meant to be a "value" board from them, she ain't cheap.

Any of the Gigabyte Aorus ones. They look orange in the pics, but it's RGB. You can set it to any color you like, or just turn it off and have a grey/black board.

Also IDK why you'd get instability in Star Citizen from a G3, I've ran a Vega FE (stock) off a 650W G3 with no issues, and my current rig is running an OCed 5820K and a Radeon VII off a 1000W G3, also with no issues.
