Need a new graphics card for under $400

So I've started earning money from selling my items on eBay! and may be able to purchase a graphics card!! Woohoo! time to move away from a gtx 1050 ti which I've had for many years!

 

But with so many mixed reviews and media saying certain things and many many graphics card releases! I don't know where to start, what to look at, what to consider

 

My specs are ryzen 5 2600 (overclocked slightly) gtx 1050 ti 16 gb 3000 MHz tridentz ram with a 60 Hz 1080p monitor (soon to be 2 if you read my previous post) 

 

NOOOO more than $400 and would like to of course spend less than that unless it is absolutely worth the money

Well technically you could find a GTX 1070 for that price (and maybe 2nd hand 1080).

 

RTX 2060 is new generation and hits your budget. A little downscaled would be the 1660Ti and then below that is the 1660.

 

Alternatively, the Vega 56 on AMD's side also fits in this budget and can trade blows with the RTX 2060

Don't know if it's out of stock, but that price of 310 is tasty for an 8gb vram card. Give yourself some breathing room and get vega. Don't waste your money on 6gb 2060, only to end up buying a new card 2 years down the line because you didn't have enough vram. Don't fall into nvidia's dirty trap.

 

It's WELL within that 400 budget, and I think you feel like you don't actually want to spend close to that. This is therefore the best option. You lose a bit of performance from the 2060, but you gain 2gb vram. It's cheaper and I'd pay $50+ less for a trade like that.

Vega 56 pulse is your best option, 8g vram ,hbcc. And maybe you get lucky and get samung hbm and you can flash it to a 64.

Though "at stock" it has awfully high power consumption (compared to a 1660Ti), you can always "underlock-undervolt" it. And no, it won't have any significantly detrimental effects on performance.

Its your choise, but the V56 is the best buy and the power is not that bad that people put out. check side by side power and you will see its not that bad. My 8g vram on same games are already on the limit
