Do you install Motherboard Chipset drivers?

I let windows do everything, then I go in and make sure I'm on the latest from the Manufacture!

PC Set up 

CPU: I9-9900k

Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro-Wifi

GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Gamin Z 

Cooling: Cooler Master ML360R AIO

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 16 GB 3000MHZ (8GB X 2) 

RAM: Corsair Vengence Pro Lighting Enhancement Kit (0GB X 2) 

Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB 

PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular

Don't use the motherboard website unless you really need to when something isn't working.

Otherwise you will likely run into issues because those drivers will be installed on top of the windows 10 ones.

 

Just check for windows updates and let it do everything, and then after that if you have problems with audio or something not working, THEN go to the motherboard website.

 

Also in very rare cases the default windows LAN drivers won't work so you can't connect to the internet and install updates.

In that case you do need to download the LAN driver from the motherboard website (but only the lan driver, not everything else)

Why not use the one time Windows Update is really useful? Let it handle everything.

 

Please never fall for 'driver update software' like Iobit's Driver Booster and so on, these do way more harm than anything else.

Good post Princess.  Ah man I have never used IObit Driver Booster and if you payed me I wouldn't use it.  Unless I want to open a can of worms.  ALl those apps just ruin your WIndows pretty much and soon you would have to do a format,, sighs

Granted my systems are all old and don't have drivers for W10.  Installing W10 and allowing it to install appropriate drivers has not let me down.
