Posted March 15, 2019 I have been using my own build for a good few years now and it can run the newer games but not on the highest settings (which is fine by me) and most of them I can reach around high 40 fps to mid/high 50 fps and sometimes 60 fps . But I have been thinking to upgrade some of my pc parts. So I'm wondering which parts are best to upgrade. Posted March 15, 2019 How much are you wanting to spend? You could throw in an RX 580 and it should help decently If you're looking to upgrade the cpu you can get a 6700k or (imo what I would do is) switch to an R5 2600 and the corresponding upgrades Community Standards || Tech News Posting Guidelines ---======================================================================--- CPU: R5 3600 || GPU: RTX 3070|| Memory: 32GB @ 3200 || Cooler: Scythe Big Shuriken || PSU: 650W EVGA GM || Case: NR200P
 Posted March 15, 2019 Upgrading to a newer generation CPU and motherboard with faster DDR4 ram would be the more logical choice, if you're not looking to upgrade the whole system you could go for just a GPU upgrade (keep in mind newer high end gpus could bottleneck with that older i5), it all just depends on budget and what you feel comfortable upgrading. If it were me I'd do a complete system overhaul. Posted March 15, 2019 Since you've got a Z series board, a used i7 6700k off eBay is a really economical upgrade choice. Follow that with a used graphics card and you're good. Did you have a budget of some kind? I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B Primary PC: i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me. Posted March 15, 2019 I'd start with the gpu and if you still want more you could do cpu+mobo+ram. Posted March 15, 2019 Just now, Constantin said: That means absolutely nothing It means a modern platform, with a cheap 6 core maybe hitting 5ghz at best, Vs just a 6700K. Still leaves room for a future upgrade to more cores on AM4 as well, and the CPU + Motherboard costs the same as a 6700K most of the time. Also his CPU is still mostly fine for gaming. Could just replace the GPU with a cheap RX 570/580, which is like 40-50% faster and cheap. I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly... Posted March 15, 2019 Look at getting a better GPU. Something along the lines of Rx 570/rx580/gtx1660/gtx1660ti. Ordered in rising performance and pricing with about 10-15 performance inbetween each of them. (Roughly).
