Good gaming computer for 240fps 1920x1080

Hey, im building a new high end pc for 240fps 1920x1080 gaming. And i was wondering, that can i save some money at some specs and are these specs down below good enough for 240fps 1920x1080 gaming. Links to the specs are at the very bottom of this post. I mainly play apex, and fortnite, but i know, that i can run fortnite 240fps easily, apex is what i am worrying about.

for a 240hz monitor you will be better off with a i5 8600k with a z370 board- doesn't have to be a top of the line, but has to support overclocking.

you don't need 32gb of ram, there is no difference between 16 and 32 for gaming.

1000w psu is overkill, 750w semi modular is more then sufficient.

If you want 244fps in fortnite you will have to turn down graphics to low to medium,  not high or ultra high.  Even then you will struggle to get over 200fps.  That 240hz monitor is for games like CS:GO not a Unreal Engine game.  You will barely get 200fps but have dips, which is what freesync is for.  You can forget about 244fps locked, its not going to happen in Fortnite.

It is okay for 180 200, but if you really want 240 you will need of a RTX 2080ti. Apex is kinda mysterious for now. Also why 240 fps?

1080ti is good enough, personally I'd take 1440p 144hz over 1080p 240 hz, if you havn't seen either then I'd say go for 1440p and the amd cpu (due to future ugpradability since the cpu matters less at higher resolutions|)

afaik 240hz does look smoother but only to somebody who knows that to look for, cant speak for myself

 

edit: amd cpu IF you care about future upgradability since you wont have to change motherboards

i never tested 240, but if you want to save money except if you want to make a esports Apex team you don't need 240 fps, use what you have in a 144hz monitor

I have used the 2080 as an example since 1080ti is a last gen card equivelent but marginally worse then the 2080 and in most places sold out since they are not being made anymore.

No, Unreal Engine games can run at 244fps too. I ran Frostbite engine games at 200fps solid as well (I think there was some sort of cap though since I had performance to spare, 5Ghz 8600K and SLI 1080s). So long as it's a decent engine, doesn't have an fps lock, and you have the horsepower, you can push some nuts fps numbers. 

 

That said, a 2700X won't do 200fps very well. Over 120-130 in my experience is much harder to do that with an 8600K. In Destiny 2 at 1080p ultra 144fps lock, my 5Ghz 8600K pinned it at 144fps with one, one single drop to 143fps. R7 2700X pushed about 120-130, 110 in harder to run areas (using the same GPU both times, an EVGA 1080 SC). 

 

For 240fps 1080p I'd go for an i5 9600K or i7 9700K, a mid/high end Gigabyte Z390 board (they have the best VRMs most of the time) and a beefy cooler then OC that sucker as high as it goes. 1080 Ti should provide plenty of GPU horsepower (sadly I don't have my 8600K anymore but do have a 1080 Ti, so I can't test it for you to confirm), you just want some insane single core to push really, really high refresh rates in most games. Although Apex will probs be the hardest, IIRC it's quite GPU dependant so you may have to drop settings a good bit to keep a high fps. Anything 200fps or over should be impossible to tell apart from the full 240fps though, unless you get funky frametimes.

In what country are you purchasing the equipment?

 

A 1000W psu is a waste of money. A 650W psu will provide more than sufficient capacity.

 

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

It may when 3rd gen drops, but not right now for sure. If leaks are correct and the new ones can hit 5Ghz (and we know there's at least one SKU that can match/beat a 9900K, they showed it off at CES) and have a solid IPC, high framerates (120+ consistently) on Ryzen should be a thing though.

Should be around 96Hz, or so, depending on if you were taught math at a public or private school.   Realistically, 144Hz is good for esports.  240 is rocking super endgame stuff, but you pay for it.

32GB of memory is not needed. 1000W psu is significantly over capacity.
