am I holding back my CPU with this graphics card?

It depends on the game. I feel like some titles can't use the whole CPU but others would be able to leverage it well. I believe this is a appropriate pairing, an inexpensive CPU with an inexpensive graphics card, but you would also be able to make a decent upgrade to something like a 580 or even Vega 56 depending on your performance target and game library.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Eh should be fine. Bottlenecks aren't horrible things, you'll always have one somewhere.

I mean, would you get better performance with an RX580? Yeah, probably.

following on from what fasauceome has said it also depends on what graphics setting (especially resolution) you are playing at, for instance at 1080p must high-end graphics cards are bottle-necked by the cpu but going up to 4k it turns into the card bottle-necking the cpu

Oh 1080 is all... I don't have fancy monitors

Using High or Ultra in most titles,.. You'll be GPU bound.

Still, even with a NEW 9600K or something, the GPU can only get so far..

I'd hazard a guess that an RX570 being compared on a 4770 and a 9600k would absolutely have a difference but it will be quite minor gains on the averages.. Yet the Minimums will have the greatest uplift between them.

4770 8threads at 3.5Ghz'ish really only gets fully tapped in Ubisoft AAA Creed Games and Battlefield/Frostbite titles.Yet just using a RX570 or GTX970 you'll still be GPU bound at Ultra settings.

Your CPU will usually have excess IPC for a RX570 setup and will be fine for a majority of games.

Not all Games are equal however.. You could keep looking further at 4770+RX570 videos online..

People showing performance mostly have an Onscreen display of stats you can see.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

1080p Low Settings can show you the range of FPS somewhat capable of..80-110fps ranges in this video at low settings. GPU usages can swing down here.. Even with a much better GPU, this range is likely where it'll sit.

It's not exactly a slouch, perfect for a RX570 IMO.

So I am running a NON K 4770 with a RX 570 8 gig... is this an ok pairing or am I holding back my CPU with this graphics card?

this is a very good match for modern games at 1080p high settings 60FPS+

You could probably even jump to a GTX 1070 or 1070ti and still max out your GPU in most of the games you play.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR

I run a rx 580 with a 3770 and there is no noticeable bottleneck, you are completely fine

Honestly? The 4770k should easily be able to use 100% of an RX 570. That's what actually matters. GPU usage. That you're not wasting your card's maximum performance.

Some of the reason newer CPU's gain frames is because of faster RAM, as well as the ability to process physics better, which will ALWAYS be faster on a faster processor, even IF your GPU is always at 100% usage.

Rest assured, it's a great pairing! In fact, you could probably even go higher, but I think you'll be happy with an RX 570 here.

Well its not a K sku but I can still see that in general it runs well... major issues I have with it are that the HP case its in just sucks for airflow and the motherboard only has 1 Fan Header.... I might put it in a separate case and get a standalone fan controller and see if that makes it better... I guess I can always use the case and new power supply in a new build if I want to
