I'm looking to build my first ever PC! The putting parts together isn't an issue for me (I've watched a TON of videos on it.) I'm lacking the knowledge on pretty much every aspect of the process of picking out parts.

I'm looking to game on a few titles like Overwatch, maybe some other mainstream titles, and WoW Classic when it eventually comes out. I'm not trying to play games on ultra or crazy settings. I'm just looking to be able to play at a good fps in a medium/medium high setting. I live right outside of St. Louis MO and I don't have any peripherals picked out at the moment. My budget I'm looking at is in like the $600-700 USD range with intentions to upgrade in the future. Any and all tips or recommendations are welcome! If my price point is too crazy low for what I'm looking for, I'll obviously have to adjust my budget. Peripherals aren't included in my budget I'll just have to buy them as I go but any recommendations on a specific monitor or keyboard/mouse would be awesome. I'm not looking for a 144hz monitor or anything crazy like that 1080p is fine with me.

I wouldnt have any issue buying used, I don't know of a reputable place around here to buy used components.

Also that is! I haven't posted one forum in probably 10 years so I made sure to not let myself look like a fool.

Leaves you with $70 to find a case and change any parts you have a preference to change. I do small OS only ssd drives so if you want a larger one, up to you. Speaking of OS it's tricky to budget it in, considering resellers that offer them as low as $20 or buying direct from MS for up to $150 or whatever, I'm gonna leave you to figure that part out.

XFX or Sapphire would be my choices.

Didn't know the powercolor one sucked though? I know the vega cards from them have been considered fairly good. Does that not apply to the 580?

For your budget, I'd 100% go used then. That's what I do for every build, but I have a love for bargain hunting.

I'd suggest you check out the Reddit Hardware Swap. Great forum, tons of insane deals go through every day...but they also sell within minutes sometimes, so you'd have to check and check often. Also check out eBay, as some bundles of CPUs/montherboards go through super cheap. I picked up a 7600k, motherboard, 256GB SSD, and 16GB of RAM for like $200 last year.

With your budget, you could easily get:

800GB SSD (Intel DC drives go quite cheap on eBay)

i5 8400/Ryzen 2600

GTX 1070

Or possibly better depending on the deals you find. Don't worry about used CPUs, you still get a warranty. Same with EVGA video cards, PSUs, etc.
