Camera recommendations

Hello,

I am looking for a nice camera to shoot videos. I like to edit videos but want an upgrade from my phone. Any recommendations for something under $300 that is ready to use out of the box? I know almost nothing about cameras so I do not know what to look for.

Thanks!

1080p and 60fps at least. Idk what connectivity. What is the connection for? If its to hook up the camera to my computer I have all of those except sd and micro usb. I know nothing about cameras lol

I'd say don't bother with a camera for $300, in most cases your smartphone will do as good if not better a job than whatever you might find.

Now, there's stuff thats cheap, like the panasonic g7, which could potentially be had for $300 used and is quite good for video purposes, but again, for that sort of budget...

you can't get a 5dmk2 for $300 and they need a lot of extra equipment to function. If you are talking about original 5d mk1s, they don't shoot video.

Also, the t3i lacks any AF capability in video and is quite old at this point.

Just a thought but don't expect a lot from a 300$ purchase unless you get very lucky and find something used in great shape. I only say that because I started out with what I could get and I am still far from the gear I would like. Using low end hardware seem to always make it harder to edit as there was always something going wrong. Don't get me wrong, I have produced some good results but overall I had more problems then I wanted.

Good luck to your choices.
