[solved] PC doesn't boot

just_oli_

First of all my English isn't the best...

The problem is my PC won't boot.
Whenever I press the power button the PSU clicks once and nothing happens (no fan is spinning or something else). The mainboard lights up all the time, but the lower display stays black. As a test, I had my speakers connected to the motherboard and they work without problems. Unfortunately, I can not check on the monitor if an error message is displayed because the graphics card is not there yet.

During the paperclip test the PSU only clicks...

I hope someone can help me.
(I sent the PSU today for exchange.)

My Specs:
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X
ASRock X399 Taichi AMD X399
AMD RADEON 7 (not in the system right now)
64 GB Corsair Vengeance
Corsair Hxi Series HX1000i
500 GB Samsung 860 Evo 2.5"
NZXT Kraken X62 V2

well first off you wouldnt know whats happening on screen until you get a graphics card and second all your cables might not have been connected properly so id double check to make sure all your connections are secure

It won't start because it needs a video out to pass POST. Threadripper doesn't have an iGPU, so you'll have to wait until your GPU arrives.

Please quote my post, or put @paddy-stone if you want me to respond to you.

But the fans should go on even without a gpu or not?

Ya, trust me TR doesn't exactly post, as paddy mentioned, without the GPU.  The most you might be able to do is a bios update with the CPUless method.

CPUless method.?

Ya, I have the same board as you.  Two things I will mention!

1)  This board does not like to post without a GPU, but if you get a GPU in there and it doesn't boot you will have to RMA.  The reason being is ASRock switched to the Foxconn socket which is known for having tightening, connecting, and other issues.  We call it the wheel on, but nobody home issue.  I had that problem with my first board.

2) The Taichi can actually have the bios update without a CPU being in the socket it just requires a flash drive with the image on it and a couple other things, but you can find this in the manual.

Thanks!

As soon as the new PSU and the GPU arrived I will try it out!
I hope I was just too dumb and the PC will work with the GPU.
