Hacking Nvidia's Drivers!

Does anyone using a mining gpu and a 144-165hz monitor? How was it?

I was playing a game when I noticed that my P106-100 is not working. I checked on device manager and I found an error with the GPU, code 19 iirc. So I DDU'd old driver and tried to install 531.41 (with patch of course). I don't know why it does not push through, I always receive this error. Already edit the group policy, registry, and others but still the same. Has anyone experienced this?

Edit: I already fixed it by disabling some other policy. Thanks!

Im having a serious issue. So i installed windows and followes the steps in the patching guide. 531.xx(the release of @dartraiden ) and while i did get a .cat file

it only finds "nv_dispig" in have disk mode. Its showing as a 1070, but still broken. Any tips? It wont let me select the nv_disp in the patcher notes. I did let the patch command finish but same issue. Yes i have a p104-100

Ok i did a ddu and it seams to have worked. I followed a guide with the patch. Then watched a 2nd video on regediting the "mshybrid=1" and "something adapter=4" My p104 now shows right. But how do i use it? All the boxes are checked. Minus physX. Also the control pannel opens. But in display settings it says its using the intel. Is there a way to check which gpu is going to be used? Ok this isn't right... on linux i get 30+ fps... same gpu... its running at minimim power when on windows-

Pretty sure my gpu needs to be repasted on linux one tho. It used to get a score of 2056 or so on heaven bench 1080p on ubuntu. But even so that is a huge diffrence

Also note dx11 vs opengl

Both pcs are running heaven benchmark exact same specs. Only diffrence is os.

edit last: i know i had a diffrent screen shot for linux before but that was an alt pc with similar specs. I swapped to ither drive this time. So same pc now...  also note the card runs better in windowed mode on linux. That bench for lin was full screen 1080p. The win was lower resolution with dx11 instead of opengl windowed mode. 20230628_091925.thumb.jpg.45cf63e24599d4eabb1e9d1cfb63a2ff.jpg20230628_034418.thumb.jpg.180c57954571b8c5ff03b8b10315fb88.jpg

I just opened heaven benchmark with opengl and in controll pannel put it as "use p104-100 as default" for opengl. But its still using the igpu and running at minimum settings according to gpu-Z sensor. Gpu load video wngline and all are at zero. Also the advanced graphics settings in windows don't show. So i cannot manually tell it to use the card.

Also the intel command center finds the p104 as a 1070gtx

Also it said in nvidia gpu activity indicator "there are no applications running on this gpu nor displays connected to it" i teied ddu ing it nothing works

Trying the control pannel app in the video i used says "invalid value for registry"

Universal app lets me select some apps. I added my browser and started a youtube video. Zeroc% load on gpu according to gpuz. So i know its using igpu. Its an 8086k + p104-100.

In dxdiag it has only display not display and render.

My physical p104-100 has a non-working even on linux hdmi port. Is this possibly causing issues?

@VersusID is the 8086k not compatable on windows or something?

Specs:intel 8086k +msi p104-100 8gb.

Driver: 536.23

Videos used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P55u9acWZSQ&t=34s

https://youtu.be/Jv8JhR3gkyU

Isue: driver installs fine multiple times. And the option to do "advanced graphics settings" works fine. In "windows settings app" and even "intel control pannel" sees it as a gtx1070

But in a linux vs windows test same machine

Heaven benchmark scored a 1760(in ubuntu)

And a 100 (in windows) also the gpu reads as 0% load inside windows when opening gpuz for always on top during bench so i know it is using igpu even with universal app settings set. And nvidia control pannel says unconnected display. Gpu-z says everything but phys-X is checked.

Nothing i do will make it use the gpu.

I used the pre patched driver in video 1.

And the regedits in video 2. Video 2 has "invalid regristry settings" when i tried to install the custom control pannel.

Edit: it sort of worked aort of disn't. Right clicking "run with high performancs nvidia processor" makes it use it for blender but adding blender through graphics settings makes it fail. The "change default adapter" setting isn't seaming to work.

Just changed settings in bios to "igpu" as primary adapter and the custom control pannel in video 2 with select adapter chice opened but setting it to "high performance nvidia gpu" does nothing.

I'm sorry, I don't really understand your problem, what I know about the p106-100 I have put in the videos on my channel 🙏. My suggestion is that you reinstall your Windows and start reinstalling your iGPU driver and Nvidia driver

maybe you can try using 2 gpu, although it doesn't make sense since it's better to buy 1 normal gpu 😅

My specs:

i5-10400F - no integrated GPU

1st card - GT 1030 2Gb GDDR5 (any cheap GPU AMD r5 or r7)

2nd card - ASUS p106-100 6Gb

OS Windows 10 22H2

1. Uninstalled all Nvidia drivers in safe mode (DDU), reboot in original Windows.

2. Installed drivers 534.61 patched from post https://linustechtips.com/topic/1029382-hacking-nvidias-drivers/page/54/#comment-15867219

4. Regedit key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\ ---> 0000 and 0001

3. Change/Add EnableMsHybrid=1 for p106-100

4. Change/Add EnableMsHybrid=2 for GT 1030

5. Reboot

6. In Nvidia panel set NVIDIA GPU as default

7. Disable Windows update drivers with  Group Policy Editor

And all works for me. Games use p106-100.  But some games can still have issues. Also necessary to have 2 PCIe x16 slots.  Although I only have 1 PCIe x16 and 1 PCIe x1 - p106-100 works in 16, gt 1030 in PCIex1. My bad luck with MOBO. And I think just buy cheap rx 580.

LOL,,, how silly me,

but i'm just curious, and i bet most of us here have more than just one graphic card,

i'm still waiting for my pcie riser to arrive, i'll try to use 2 gpu like you said,

awsome! is that for real?!

this is a very good news for everybody, many newbie like me still think minning series card must have system with igpu,,,

so not just possible work arround, but also it's been proofen it can be done by using 2 gpu,

very releived, sure will follow step 1-7, since it's seem very clear and easy step to follow,,,

thanks for sharing the tips, precious information this is,,,

Most of the stolen certificates (with which we signed the modified drivers) were banned yesterday. This was to be expected, since this certificate trick can be used not only for good (as in our case), but also for signing malicious drivers.

So that is the reason why my p106 didn't work after some windows update happened today on my PC. Do you have a solution other than removing the update that is causing it?

I have only one working certificate left, so from now on I will upload only the patched driver maybe the certificate will last longer.
