Gaming laptop under $1000?

Anything in the price point that can beat it out?  Or is it a safe bet at $970 (plus a $120 mail-in rebate card)?

Eww, the screen is pretty crappy (non even IPS), the battery life is probably terrible (51 Wh, seriously MSI?), and the Wi-Fi card isn't great either.

Yep in the US. No real preference on either. Not entirely sure what you mean by low sRGB display though. Like low brightness, or low color accuracy, or?

So from what I've read, a 1060 is better than a 1050 Ti correct?  Also, do you have a link to where you saw the G5 for a good price (you mentioned not on Dell's site)

So from what I can tell, it seems like the CyberpowerPC Tracer III 15 Xtreme VR  is the best of the bunch...?

So I'm looking at the specs between the Tracer III 15 Xtreme VR 400 & the Tracer III 15 Slim VR 500, and I can't see much of a difference?  Seems that the Xtreme has a 144hz IPS LCD display while the Slim has a 60hz non-IPS LCD display (and a slightly larger trackpad)?  Am I missing anything?  I dunno why the Slim typically costs $200 more when not on sale as compared to the Xtreme.

Both are different models - Xtreme has better cooling solution (Slim also has good cooling but not quite as good), Slim has thinner+lighter profile

Alright thanks for all your help @GeneXiS_X think I'm gonna go with the Xtreme, as I like the 144hz & don't care much about thin/light
