Can any monitor with USB type c connect to a laptop via the thunderbolt or they are different

**I actually don't know much about the thunderbolt**

Thunderbolt 3 is, for most practical purposes, an extension of USB-C. If the thunderbolt port is thunderbolt 3, i.e. it uses a USB-C connector, then it will work with a monitor using a USB-C input.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
