What are your opinions on lg 24mp59g ips moinitor with 75 hz refresh rate

Siddhant Mishra

Hey is this good as it has 1ms motion blurr and 5ms gtg response rates (75HZ refresh rate) . It is ips panel . So is this a good budget gaming monitor for esports battle Royale and FPS games? Or should I opt for a TN panel with 1ms ? Budget ips vs budget TN .plz help me and Thanks in advanced .

That doesn't matter anymore..

Response time is prettymuch useless as there are no standardization to measure them..

IPS are cheap nowadays but you must prepare for a backlight bleeding especially on the lower end model such as 24mp59g..

If you own amd gpu that support free-sync, get the mp68VQ it has free-sync support.

IPS over TN any day.

TN is only useful for 240+hz, but for anything under you can get a IPS or even a VA display instead.

That LG monitor looks decent.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Umm why would a cheaper one be better? And what is backlighting bleeding?

the 24mp68VQ is not cheaper than your choice..

Its when the backlight bleed out of the screen..it will be very noticeable if the screen display solid black color in a dark room.but in games especially in a bright area..you wont notice it

Oh thats the newer model..i am sorry that one also support free sync..just get that one. It looks okay..

Well in the dark area when you play the game everything will look white'ish..it will affect the black level on the display. But its not a thing that typical person would worry about.

Hey what should I opt for

Acer kg271 (75hz,1ms). TN

OR

LG 24mp59g (1ms motion blurr, 5ms gtg, 75 hz ) IPS .

I am unable to decide between these two monitors . I want good performance outta my monitor . I’ll be using it for   gaming  and schooling (programming, learning etc.) I’ll be playing mostly FPS games . Should I opt for an IPS monitor with lower response time. OR. A TN panel monitor with 1ms response time. Thx in advanced

The 1ms response time on that TN monitor is not very relevant considering its 75hz refresh rate.

Go for the IPS.

That's highly dependent on what monitor you buy. My old LG 75hz IPS ultrawide monitor had minimal backlight bleed but had a bit of ghosting. My cousin's LG cheapo 24 inch 1080p 60hz monitor from Best Buy has mild ghosting and virtually no backlight bleed.

Then you have horror stories about fancy gaming monitors like the Acer XB271HU having massive amounts of backlight bleed that's even noticeable during normal usage in some cases.

Every monitor is different. Do your research.

This monitor would probably be good for your use case scenario: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GL2460BH-Monitor-Technology-Speaker/dp/B07GF2ZR8G

it should do fine in gaming and probably the best you can do for under 160 dollars.

as for 144hz and above, you'll have to spend at least 200 dollars for that(at 1080p)
