Realtek audio driver update for older ROG Maximus Hero motherboard

I've been having some audio bugs with my Realtek drivers for my ROG Maximus Hero VI motherboard. I have the latest drivers from the Asus site for my motherboard, from 2016 being latest version.

Can I get newer drivers directly from Realtek while keeping my ROG Audio software compatible?

Thanks!

You can. It's Realtek sound chip, not Asus.

How can I ensure that the specialized ROG Sound controller software will still work?

Just try, you can always revert to previous driver.

BTW. that ROG controller may cause your problems, not sound chip driver. ASUS is not well known for quality of their software.

Is it just me, or is the Realtek site not listing any audio drivers?
