The 2700X likes to run hot but, that's true to most chips nowadays. Getting some extra fans for that case would help for sure.

Your biggest problem here isn't the cooler it's the case and, it's airflow.

You will be fine with temps like that.

Does the temp drop more than just a few C when you run with the side panel off?

I would guess that the voltage regulation is at auto in the bios (default) and it for some reason feeds too much when idle. Check if there is a newer bios for your motherboard that maybe can resolve this issue or set the voltage manually.

The cooler is doing its job very well, as it has good temps when gaming. No need to change that and the stock cooler for those processors is proven to be a good cooler on par with Hyper Evo and the likes of entry level tower coolers.

Am I seeing that right your pushing 4.2 MHz on the chip thats way high in my opinion for a stock air cooler is that rig even stable how does it do in a stress test

AMD's new stock coolers are great, that's no concern.

I could push into the 4Ghz range on my Ryzen 5 1600 if I felt comfortable running 1.4v or so.

You can think about another type of cooler, between 50 and 100 euro's you'll have a fine (air) cooler that will help with dropping those temps. the temperatures its self are pretty harmless but personally i like it at 30 and not 50 idle and 70 to 80 when under load

Ah yeah after looking closer it is prolly boosting to 4.2 on 1 core I thought he had an overclock at the number

More fans can only help so much. Your CPU will be fine at those temps. Some coolers come with thermal paste already applied to the cooler, like the AIO (liquid) I'm using. If you keep your apartment or house at 75 or 80 degrees (I know people that do), it will also effect the CPU temp.

Get Ryzen Master. If I used any other monitoring software for my 2700 it was reading out 50-80c and with the cooler I have applied, not possible. I reapplied my paste, even took off the side and placed a massive fan. To no aval. In the end, and a bunch of forum reads. Ryzen Master seems to be one of the few monitoring softwares that get's proper reading for this processor. Idle temps for me are 29-32, and under load around 35-45. I'm sure I'll be told I'm wrong, but give it a try. Hope this helps!

Nice, you might want to remove it if you don't use it because it will most likely come back after a restart.

HWMonitor works as well for me.

I do have ryzen master. I have tried all monitoring sw. Right now i just wanna lower The volts since it spikes to 1.49 sometimes.. Also The cpu MHz spikes for like a sec like you can see here.
