kind of hard to play games on two monitors. the split down the middle makes a lot of games either too annoying or completely unplayable.

I would down the ram to 16gb, unless you have a real reason. I personally would keep the i7 because there is a future in multicore games. I have a 750d and I absolutely love it! I also have the same psu line as you, a axi 760! I like this build, though two monitors is hard to game with, unless you plan to upgrade to three. Also what is your storage configuration?

Desk: monitors 3x Asus VE248h(eyefinity), Keyboard Cm Strom Trigger(mx red), Mouse Corsair m65, Headset Audio Technica ATH-M50

Black Friday 2013 Build: i7 4770k, Gigabyte Z87X UD5H, 16gb Corsair, Msi R9 290, Corsair Axi 760, Corsair 750D, 2x intel 530 240gb ssd, 2x Seagate 400gb

Older Machine amd x640, msi 760g mobo, 8gb gskillz, Sapphire 6870, Corsair hx650, Cooler master haf 922, ocz agility 3 120gb ssd || HTPC: i7 3770k, shuttle xpc z77, 16gb gskillz, Asus GTX 650 ti, intel 120gb msata ssd

Gaming doesn't work on two monitors.

As for the system, get an i5 4670K, 8GB RAM, ASUS Z87 Sabertooth, Corsair CS650M and use the leftover money to get a GTX 780Ti.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 500GB Crucial P3 Plus, 4TB Silicon Power UD90 | GPU: AsRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Build is overkill/waste of money for gaming.

No point getting an i7 over an i5 just for gaming.

32GB ram is overkill. 8GB is plenty for gaming. More ram that you won't use is useless.

Psu is overkill even for a 780 sli. Are you planning to sli?

No point getting such an expensive cpu cooler when what you're doing is gaming.

Why such an expensive mobo?

Why the Corsair fans?

...Is the bluray drive really necessary?

No need for aftermarket compound since the h100i comes with it but I wouldn't even recommend such an expensive cooler just for gaming.

You really don't need more than 8gb ram for gaming. 16gb is the most you should get, 32gb is way too much, you could save some cash and get a 780 ti

Gaming doesn't work on two monitors.

Actually games like League of Legends apparently can.

It still wouldn't work as good as it would with 3 monitors. You'd be better off gaming on 1 with a 2 monitor setup, even with LoL

firstly. unless you are doing some heavy multitasking don't go with 32gb of ram. 16gb is plenty. instead of a 780 get a 780ti and overclock it yourself or get the superclocked edition from EVGA i have it and love it. think about static pressure fans instead of airflow fans(that's just my opinion). i noticed you didn't mention storage. go with an ssd boot drive(something over 130gb) and then an hdd ex. WD Blue or green(since it wont be running windows performance inst as big of a deal imo)

i use antec nano diamond formula 7 and it works great. As long as you use a reputable brand you should be good for thermal compound.

Hope I Helped!! :)  :)  :)

if you are reading this you are wasting valuable time and should maybe rethink your life choices.

I would agree with what everyone else is saying, 8gb or 16 gb ram. One more thing, if you want multi monitor but dont want the split try lookin into this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BOEUQZK/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=19CNB35QW2AW1F3JA64X&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200422&pf_rd_i=507846

I know this, as I have used my dual monitors for such. But, I was just saying that gaming doesn't really work that way.

Look, the PC is perfectly fine if you're alright with spending that kind of money. If you're having second thoughts about it, follow some "downgrade" advice - but if you're in it for raw power, that's one hell of a PC.

Now, I would recommend a 780Ti - so, if you're at your maximum budget, stepping down to 16GB of RAM, slightly less powerful PSU, and i5 might be a good idea (as has been rehashed over and over in this thread).

Also, to answer your question - yes, this PC build is absolutely overkill for 1080p gaming. You could easily walk all over 1440p and not bat an eye.
