How Do I Back Up My Laptop To My Desktop?

Best way is to make a network share, then backup to the network share.

 

External hdd is easier and better though

 

Just use the windows 7 backup and restore to do backups(yes use this in windows 10)

I want to backup all my data on my laptop to my desktop. I am not sure how to go about doing this, thought maybe a network connection might do it but my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, could I do it over wifi? 

 

I have an external HDD, I suppose I could use that if it's faster. Is there a way to backup everything so that after a reset I can seamlessly go back to the laptop's current state?

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.
