Can the Cougar Vortex RGB Fans be able to be controlled by the Corsair iCue software if it does it can save me a few bucks

 

I am planning on getting the Cougar panzer evo rgb and I aren't sure 

please let me know :L

No, Corsair software only controls Corsair products. Same with NZXT

iCue only controls Corsair stuff. I'm sure that there's a way you can mess with hardware or software to get it to work but that would probably take a lot of time and not be worth it.

I might be wrong but I always thought that yes you need the specific company's rgb fan controller hub to work with it's own software but the pwm fans were interchangeable. Different brand's fans are often made in the same factories by the same people, just with a different sticker.

Similar question here, is there a way to control Thermaltake Riing 12 RGB fans with some other app? Theirs cant do much.

No each manufacture has their own proprietary controllers they cannot be interchanged. Depending on the Riing fans you have the addressable ones have a lot more patterns that can be created.

Yeah,figured. Had some problems with controller recognition and stuff,hence the question.
