Force-update an LG TV?

Skullbunny

Hey

I own some weird MEA model of an LG TV , the 32LB589Z , It is powered by this ancient version of their 'smart' OS , and I would like to renew it , make an older product feel a bit better.

Obviously there's no one to ask on the LG side as they're like 'it is what it is' - and I'm just wondering , anyone knows of a way to forcefeed a TV an update? :(

Can't find anything on that model at all on LG's website. Seems like you're SOL. It's likely some budget model that's dumped on the market as is.

The closest it gets to is the 32LB5800 , which is also 32inch, smart TV from the old ages.

Smart TVs really don't get long support at all, sadly. Especially when manufacturers switch software platforms down the road. #makethesmarttvdumbagain

I personally use an Apple TV as I'm basically allergic to Google products so I can't say anything useful from personal experience :D
