bought a mining R9 Nano. assumed it was used for mining and similar since its purschase date.

bought mine 3 months ago and it is still working like a charm.

life span of used GPUs are pretty much random as GPUs dont "fail" in the same manner as normal equipment. you can expect more powerhungry cards to last shorter, but in general any card will last for quite some time. Any catastrophic failure can be counted as bad luck (more or less)

I bought a used GTX 660 Ti maybe 5 years ago, and it's working just fine. I bought a used GTX 970 over 2.5 years ago, and it's also working fine.

I ran a used HD7950 for almost 2 years and sold it to someone after that for basically the same amount of money, never gave me problems. Same goes for a 780Ti I had.

You can have a lot of good and bad luck with a 2nd hand card, it's always a gamble. For the most part, don't buy something suspiciously cheap and buy from reputable sellers.

You won't get accurate answers, because depends how long card has been used, on what conditions and etc...

1 if my Titans were bought new. The other 4 were used. Still working, over clocked and over volted everyday. Believe that’s 6 years on the originals.

My used referbed mined 1080 still works.

Poor quality and implementation is the biggest factor.

I recently bought a Asus gtx 1080, I've only been using it for a week but it seem fine apart from a bit of coil whine.

Got a used 980Ti in 2016. Still works perfectly fine.

Hell, I got a 10+ year old Radeon X1950XT and a Geforce 4 4200Ti 16 years old that still work fine. (although I bought both of those new).

I bought a 1070ti off of Craigslist about 3-4 months ago, overclocked it the day I got it and it is still running like a champ, no issues at all.

I bought a GTX 780 about a year ago. It died after 4 months. Then I bought another 780, which worked fine for about 6 months. After that I decided to replace it with a second hand 1070, which has been running great since.
