17inch Gaming Laptop

Redbull

My laptop finally died and I need help to find a new one. I had a old HP DV8T and it was 10 years old. I have been trying to save up money for a new laptop but my hp  died before I could save up enough money and seriously look at all the laptops out there.

I really like like all the ASUS ROG brand things that I have seen. I was looking at the 1050 and the 1060 versions that they offer at places like Best Buy and amazon. Both were just on sale for 1000 and 1200. Is the 1050 a decent card and will I be disappointed. Also if anyone has any suggestions on other brands please let me know.

I use my laptop every day for work with team viewer. I need a 17 inch or bigger. I also want something that can play most games. I like to play racing games and games like city skylines.

Also if I go with ASUS which I plan on how is all the ROG stuff. Because I will work on saving up money to stay in the ROG line of products.

do you care about colour reproduction? Because 17" ROG laptops are (as far as I can tell) using TN panels which are quite bad if you're used to IPS. Also many of them suck in cooling.

I don’t care to much because it’s going to be better then what I had. Are there better 17 inch laptops in the $1,000 -1200 price range. Since I use it for work I need that is not real big and bulky.

Raleigh North Carolina, budget is max of 1300, weight not to heavy, battery life just needs to be ok.
