Can i connect rgb pins to the wrong location ?

So i have this motherboard https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H110-PC-MATE.html and i have this pc case  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073R5GC4R/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My problem is this, on my motherboard i dont have the right pins to connect the rgb fans from the case to the motherboard. But what i am noticing is that I have some other free 1x4 pins on my motherboard what i can use to connect the rgb fans .

So the end question would be if i can connect the rgb fans cable to the motherboard free 1x4 pins  with out damaging the motherboard or any other components.

Additional information, the free 1x4 pins are from SYS SANS or CPU fan.

that mobo doesnt have an RGB controller.. if you just go poking the plugs on stuff that's meant for other purposes, i'd call the chance of you killing hairdware "not unlikely".

The fan should have 2 cables, 1 for the RGB & the other to power the fan itself, you can plug in the power cable to make the fan itself work but leave the RGB Cable unplugged as putting it in something other than a RGB header world fry/kill the RGB LEDs with too much power (IIRC a normal fan connector is 12v, a RGB header is 5v)
