Did you post this refering to the recent PIA A320 crash in Pakistan where the pilots at first touched down with the gear up, scratching the engines? In any case, in the (preliminary) video of TheFlightChannel on youtube, you can see a reenactment of what we know so far made with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The warning messages are also in there, with more detail.

it was partially a reference but something I was reading something that implied they they were having an issue extending the landing gear and for whatever reason did a go around but then the engines failed

I'm watching that video right now, but I showed off how the aural warning can be turned off by turning the ground proximity warning system off but the L/G warning doesn't go away and it still illuminates the Master Warning button and does that aural warning

Yes, it makes perfect sense imo that this message does not fully go away since it is a very serious one. Obviously, I am not a pilot and I have never been in such a situation, but I would assume that in case of such a warning popping up, standard procedure would call for a go around, call to ATC, entering a holding pattern somewhere near the airport with ATC's authorization and following the ECAM procedures. I hope the investigation will find out what exactly happened and what the pilots' rationale was.

same on all of that I'm not a pilot either lol

I do know most of Airbus's systems pretty well though from videos and messing around with a very detailed simulation of one in Xplane 11.

My suspicion is they tried deploying the landing gear in an gear over speed situation because they had too high of a glide slope and when they were supposed to be at 7,000 feet they were at 10,000 feet and when they were supposed to be at 3,000 feet they were at 7,000 feet, the gears won't extend over 260ktas. I believe you have to do what Airbus calls "recycling" the gear lever after you're below that gear overspeed, what the data captured by flightradar24 shows was there was a brief moment they were over 250kts.

They found the FDR but for whatever reason they can't find the CVR, Airbus took the FDR back to France for analysis so hopefully soon enough a clearer picture will be painted but it'd be really useful to have that CVR.

Interesting, but I thought that below 10 000 feet, air speed is restricted to 250 knots anyways (if I remember correctly). As to the CVR, I read somewhere that only its empty casing was found and that the inhabitants of the building the plane crashed into were asked to hand in any part of the plane they might have taken. I hope the recorder can be found and is still readable.

odd only wikipedia says the CVR is still missing reports from the day of the crash say the CVR and FDR were both recovered

Ethiad and Emirates biggest selling points seem to be the business class and first class offerings they have, I really wonder if it'd be possible for a new airline in the US to maybe take that similar approach with like A350-1000s or 787-9 and 787-10s. I don't think a 747 would be cost effective to get similar results and the 777X is expensive.

But like take transatlantic and trans-pacific to the next level

part of me really wants to fly on another 757 and 717 lol

While I liked the A321 as a plane more because of the PTU noise the 757 just felt I dunno different lol

And the 717 because it's just plain cool. Could've made a crappy pun but I didn't yay.

Also, puns=great

Eh Delta I think wants to get rid of the 757s eventually, and I don’t blame them the A321 is a great plane can’t remember if they ordered any A321XLRs doubt they really need it, the A321 does a good enough job for what they need since my guess is they use 767s that haven’t been retired yet and A330s for trans-Atlantic and maybe 757s? But their 757s are mostly for inter-hub and trans continental which the A321 does a good job at too.

also there’s A320s nearly as old as some of the oldest 757s still in service and will be in service as long as those older 757s lol

primarily interested in those because those are seemingly reaching EOL for at least major airline operation
